#Janathon Day 3.
Today is probably my last Isle of Wight run for a while and as I fancied a healthy blast of sea air before going back to London I swapped a third morning running round the bend loop for a lie in and planned a coastal run with my family this afternoon.
We headed to Ventnor and the coastal path to Bonchurch which is about 1. 5 miles there and back. I started out running with my younger son on his bike. He soon got into the swing of things and delighted in telling me what great easy cycling it was on smooth flat concrete. Needless to say we went at quite a pace and by the time we got back to the start my lungs were busting and suddenly I wasn’t freezing cold anymore. At least Lance Armstrong had the decency to tell me afterwards that I’d just recorded my fastest mile on nike plus!
I was happy to leave todays running at that, a quick fast blast! However, my elder son who had been walking with his Dad decided he wanted a go on the bike. So, not to deter my less energetic computer generation teenage son from exercise – off we went again! Fortunately the bike is far too small for him so we went at an easy pace. Husband ducked off to find a newspaper but younger son ran with me and I was really impressed with him running the mile and a half pausing only to shed hat, gloves and fleese and pass to me to carry, of course. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon run and I credit janathon for getting my family having fun and exercising together.
Run 1. 1.57miles 13.12mins
Run 2. 1.60miles 18.59mins

Sounds like you’ll have a running partner soon! Sounds like a refreshing run, Isle of Wight must be nice. Well done on two runs!

Going great guns. Do you have somewhere as nice to run back in London?

Much as i’m spoilt getting to run in such a nice place as IOW I have to admit that I do prefer London. So much easier in town with pavements and lights and I can run round the park listening to audiofuel!

I would love to go running by the seaside but I think I’ll be doing all of my janathon runs in London. Well done on getting all the family to join you in the exercise.
