Janathon Day 15.
Half way point (well as near as damn it!).
Congratulation to all Janathoners for getting to half way and especially to those who have done some awesome mileage. Six Janathoners are into triple figures already with quite a few more who are not far off. My respects also, as a non morning person, to the many Janathoners who have been regularly getting up before dawn to get their run in.
I’m really pleased at this half way point to have passed 50 miles. I now hope I can make 100 miles by the end of the month… It has become a competitive challenge, not against other runners, but with myself. I want to see if I can finish what I’ve started and run everyday this month and maybe clock up my highest mileage ever. It is amazing what the body can achieve – certainly more than I thought my legs were ever capable of.
Today I headed out to Hyde Park round the Serpentine and back. I was feeling a little tried to start but I plugged in my audiofuel batteries relaxed into the beat and went with the flow. Audiofuel didn’t disappoint. I ended up having a fantastic run, felt good and clocked a 10K in an hour including road junction pauses and dodging stop-start pedestrians.
Today’s observations:
Running into the wind is knackering.
Goose poo is slippery.
The over-taking ‘eye candy’ is better at the weekend in Hyde Park!
Notting Hill is a no-go zone on Saturday with stationary tourists and ‘NO – I do NOT know the way to Portobello Market!’
6.24 miles 60.31 mins
Janathon Totals:
15/31 days run 54.22 miles 5142 calories

Wish I could run round Hyde Park, lucky you. I hate it when out running and cars try to ask me directions-have been known to be rude at this point!!

lol – love the top tips, especially about the quality of the Hyde Park eyecandy.

Eyecandy can certainly act as a distraction and improve the speed of your run like a greyhound chasing the rabbit! There is so much to see in Hyde Park I used to run up past Speakers Corner on a sunday

lol – can you keep your eye out (so to speak) for male eye candy please and be sure to tell them there’ll be lots of women around on Saturday 12th february at approx noon, and if they could all wear cycling shorts that would be lovely thanks.
Good run BTW – took the plunge and ordered a full length audiofuel album today so will try it out tomorrow.

I have never once been asked for directions when out running, hmm, wonder why that is. Anyway, good run and I like your idea of setting a goal for the rest of the month. I’ll have to have a think about what’s reasonable and possible over the *second* half of the month. Well done so far.
