Today I went to Hyde Park for the post Janathon run and lunch. It was great to meet up with fellow Janathoners and put names to faces. Seven of us set off for a sociable loop around the park. I enjoyed running some usual paths with company, chatting all the way makes runs fun, I must try to run with company more often. We then met back up with other Janathoners for the presentation of the winner’s prize to Gary Vallance (http://goosevallance.blogspot.com/ ). It was then time to go for pizza, pudding (we are runners after all), drink and a good catchup.
Garmins are great bits of kit, but their power lies in the ability of the user to get the most out of them. I am one user in need of a bit of training! Today I didn’t manage to stop my run so my garmin went on to record our Janathon lunch and trip to the pub. We averaged 30 minute miles walking to the pizza place, eating and then walking on to the pub for more drinking. Pretty hard-core I think!
It’s really exciting that a group of us Janathoners are running the Bupa 10,000 on 30th May. I look forward to swapping training tips (woes) via blogs over the next few months and meeting some friendly faces on the day.
Janathon run/lunch splits!
run: 2.99 miles 33.30
going for pizza, on to the pub then to my bus stop : 3.46 miles 3.27.41!

Do you think that we need a new logo? A Bupa 10000 participant one to tide us over to Juneathon? Thanks for guiding us round Hyde Park.

I might join you all in the Bupa 10,000. The meet up sounds really great. It’s a shame I couldn’t make it. It would have been nice to have put faces to all the blogs.
