Our last day on Isle of Wight with my parents so we planned a day out and a pub lunch. It was blowing a hoolie when I woke up so I decided against running first thing as I didn’t fancy the muddy bridal path, being hit by a branch falling off a tree nor dodging cars in that wind. But when was I going to fit in my Janathon run? So far (last year and Juneathon) I’ve insisted that I run every day and a minimum of 2 miles but today it was looking like I’d have to settle with something more creative.
My opportunity arrived when we got to the pub earlier than planned and so I had time to trot out a token mile on the seafront, jeans boots, coat the lot. I set out to ‘run’ half a mile and then turn and run back, however after a third of a mile I turned a corner and could barely standup let alone run against the wind and after a few moments of comical sprinting on the spot making no head way I sensibly turned round and let the wind push me back again. A few more to-and fros on the most sheltered part of the path completed my mile before lunch.
1.01 mile 10.41 mins
However… me being me, I was not content with just one mile.
I also felt the need to run more having not run too long a distance since Monday and wanting to do a little more before my 10K on Sunday. So when we got back to find the wind had dropped, the sun was out, there was still half an hour or so light left, buoyed up on a lunchtime glass of wine I dashed out for a 2 mile loop.

Sprinting on the spot making no headway… just like being on a dreadmill.

LOVE the creative Lego staging! I had no idea there were so many characters & accessories for Legos! Very lucky that you were able to garner 2 mi. in the end 🙂

Well done – I did the running on the spot thing yesterday, made me laugh so much I actually couldn’t run!

Glad to see I’m not the only one to use the phrase ‘blowing a hoolie’ – Mr W always laughs at me when I do!!
