Is it me or are Councils saving money by dimming street lights? My run had to be early evening, after dark today, which is a first for this Janathon. (It will take a bit longer before it is the dark of pre-dawn)! I was running on pavements in ‘lit’ streets and there was plenty of light when running past shops but some of the residential areas felt decidedly dark. Just as well I was wearing something fluorescent. I did have to apologise at one stage when a girl got a bit of fright when I ran past her! I’m obviously running better and landing lighter on my feet at last!
A gentle run today after yesterday’s race although I felt surprisingly good and really enjoyed it once I got out and going. Thanks Sue for a little extra motivation from reading your blog that made all the difference. I even added an extra mile to my run tonight!

well done on your run, that has happened to me too, I gave some poor lady a huge fright one evening, so now I always say something as I am running up behind someone 🙂

In Hyde P today I was running from Speaker’s Corner to Wellington Arch on that wide carriageway and I saw someone running backwards whilst they were speaking into their phone. I decided to run straight towards her at alarming pace – that spooked her a bit! Well, it was an important life lesson – never run backwards whilst speaking on the phone!
That’s they call me Bad Wabbit.

hahahaha, brilliant. I tend to make a little cough or similar to advise people I am coming by, generally working too hard to actually say words to anyone 🙂 But I like your approach Stephen

Locally our council has taken to turning off alternate street lights. Gives an interesting dark spot/bright spot illumination effect.
Loving the lego people!
