It was gridlock in West London this evening (due to the closure of the Hammersmith flyover) and the quickest thing moving down one route west was me!!
OK, ok, there was one cyclist (on the pavement) who went past fast but everything on the road was stationary. It did made my run all the more interesting watching the chaos and frustrated drivers and amusing because I knew that if they turned off to head to another route that that road was much the same because I’d just run there too!
I very nearly didn’t run at all today but then remembered I’d have nothing to blog about if I didn’t. And I’d no doubt regret it and end up going out like an idiot at 10pm! So about 6pm I tripped out fo a quick loop. I felt good to start and was going to run further but was sensible and stopped after 3 miles because my legs were beginning to get a few niggles for the first time in 12 days.
3.32 miles in 33.15 mins

I love running or cycling past cars. The smug carries me through for hours. Hope your niggles go away.

hehe – the word girdlock always makes me think of the brilliant lilt advert from years ago where there’s a bus stuck behind a nonmoving van full of chickens and the driver says ‘it’s total gridlock! Cool pic x
