Ho hum… Janathon day 17 and my dentist appointment wasn’t allowed to count for Janathon (unless I ran there, jogged round the waiting room and jogged home). Ah, Oh dear, I drove there (half a mile) I know, I know, but I was late. I read the paper (small waiting room, wasn’t that late) and drove home (via he shops for some errands).
I then had to get some work finished and meet the builders next door to show them what was on our side of a wall they want to knock down. Still no run. Time flies and it was 4pm and I thought I’d better wait and be sociable to sons on the way home from school. Finally eldest arrives home at 5pm in ‘sunny’ teenage mood from school games afternoon! Tea drunk, pleasantries uttered and choccie biscuits located, time for me to get out of there!
Fist run-kit meltdown of janathon. One pair of long tights was damp on the drying rack and I couldn’t find the others. No, too cold to run in short tights (or even shorts) Yes, damp kit went on. I later found other set in the car (yes I’m keen and always ready to run!) so that wouldn’t have been any warmer anyway. Garmin had charge so I finally make it out the door. Actually it wasn’t as freezing as this morning and I soon forget the slightly damp kit and peel off my gloves and hat.

Nothing worse than damp kit. Well done for making it to day 17 before the kit problems set in though. Think I made it to day 3.

Over halfway through Janathon before your first kit meltdown. That is the sign of an organised runner.
