I wasn’t so fair weather today going out this morning in the rain rather than waiting for it to clear. Actually the reason I (unusually) went running in the morning and in the rain wasn’t because I was keener or more hardcore or more dedicated today. Sorry to disillusion you, but it was more a case of if, I didn’t go out then I would have had to spend the day showering and changing 2 or 3 times, because I had a lunchtime appointment, and as I am going out with my BMF group tonight, an evening run was off the cards.
That is also the reason I went for a slightly longer run to make up, in advance, for a probable pathetic effort at BMF tomorrow morning or failing that (more likely) a token run only at hangover pace!
I headed towards Hyde Park, the rain was beginning to clear on my way out, although I very nearly got a complete soaking from a 94 bus! My smugness didn’t last long as the drizzle increased to a steady light rain as I circled the Serpentine with only the Bee Gees, the geese and some puddles for company. It was quite pretty in a white-out misty, wet sort of way.

My unplanned bottle of wine last night made me feel a little worse for wear this morning. Fortunately, I can lounge in bed all day if I want to. Did a good gym session this afternoon though. Have you noticed how we often match each other in daily mileage? I did 6.2 today too – snap! Have fun tonight.

Well done for going out in the rain – sometimes it has to be done. Enjoy your evening out

‘hangover pace’ – should be a new category to go with ‘threshold’ or ‘marathon’ 🙂 well done on going out in the unfair weather!!

Great run. Hope you have a lovely night out with your BMF group. 🙂

Yes, your followers DEMAND a lego goose.
Regardless of motivation, 6 morning miles in the rain with damp geese for company is definitely hardcore.

Very hardy of you — well done. Am trying to envisage what a BMF night out might consist of. Hope no tyres involved.
