Janathon arrives in a fanfare with the New Year, much-needed after New Years Eve, the Christmas holidays and an excess food and drink and lack of exercise.
Juneathon however creeps up on you after Easter, wet bank holidays when your running is hitting a lull and you need a holiday and clubs you round the head….
‘Who stole May?’
So I sprang out of bed this morning at first light and bounced off for an early Juneathon….
OK ok, I snuck back under the duvet once dressed while waiting for the boys to crawl out of their beds and muttered something very like, to quote runningman856 from twitter ‘Oh Bollocks. It’s Juneathon!’
I wore my garmin for BMF this morning. Although we are not supposed to wear watches for BMF normally, Logan lets us occasionally wear a gps to log the mileage/calories burned etc. I have found that the average mileage is about 3 miles. Which is what I normally log for BMF classes.
So I felt a bit guilty today because we had an unusually stationary class, running only just over a mile. Not that I’m complaining! It’s been a good change to have a few slightly different BMF classes this week, concentrating on strength exercises to support glutes, hips and core for running. But being the first day of Juneathon I felt obliged to go out for a top up run when I got home. My legs felt great until I got round the first corner when the effects of all the leg raises kicked in!
1 hour BMF class (including 1.29miles run)
3.04 miles run.

“Oh bollocks” was the sanitized version of what I actually said! Good luck for the rest of the month.

apart from juneathon (obviously) the two things dominating blogs these days are a) people getting new shoes, and b) a military exercise trend :D. but well done on the first day and good to see the lego figures (the club keeping in with the military theme?)

Loving that picture! Brilliant! And what a great Junethon start. I’m new to your blog (via Juneathon)…do you have any posts that explain a bit more about the BMF classes? I don’t know much about them and they sound interesting.
