Juneathon day 11.
It was pouring with rain this morning so it was a tough call between coffee and the sofa or British Military Fitness. I had to run at some stage today for Juneathon so I was going to get wet sooner or later (If only I’d known!) so I decided to it get it over and done with.
There were only 15 of us mad enough to turn up at Hyde Park in the pouring rain for the 9.30 class. We started as usual with the warm up and soon got used to the idea of wet feet and getting rained on. The main playing field was awash with water with many 6 inch deep puddles and as we continued skipping, running, sprinting backwards and forwards across the pitch between exercises it was noticed that we were all avoiding running straight through the puddles!
So we did the next lot of team relay exercises over the biggest puddles where we progressed from jumping in them, bear crawling, leopard crawling to rolls and a few situps! I think the photos say it all. And anyway if I just tell you about it you’d probably think I was exaggerating and just winging about getting a damp bottom!
So for those of you who have never been to a British Military Fitness class…. this is what fun you could be missing!
1 hour BMF class, about 3 miles running (based on an average class) plus a few metres “swum”!
Juneathon running total…. 44 miles

You’re all mad. Completely mad. And seriously hardcore.

I like that in a sadistic way. Definitely earns the hardcore title. My wee run in the rain seems quite pathetic now.

Hi and thanks for a great blog! I am a BMF:er too, and write about it in own blog, which I write in Swedish though so a bit boring for you…
I hope it’s ok if I use your You Tube clip to show my readers what we get up to? I was not at that session but our park manager Rob at Peckham Rye must have been inspired by Logan because we too had splashy fun yesterday evening. π So much fun!
