I was rather tired today. The shock of having to be up by 7am (it was still dark!) was worse than expected even after setting my alarm early yesterday as practice. Unfortunately today I didn’t get the 30 mins sitting with the duvet up to my chin and a cup of tea (OK, more like an hour and 30 mins) to acclimatize. I drove my not so little boys to school in plenty of time for the big ones first mock GCSE and was home before 8.30.
Great, time to run maybe? Feeling very dozy I was more tempted to crawl back to bed. Might be still warm? So I decided to try to wake up a bit first and have some breakfast and coffee and a little sit down. At 10.30, having wasted enough time, I had to force myself out for a slow plod, thinking a little fresh air would wake me up so I could get on with other things.
It was good to be out in daylight and I pointed myself in the direction of Hyde Park (Winter Wonderland has not gone yet grrr) and listened to the radio as I plodded along in autopilot. I must have been half asleep most of the way because my legs took me around my loop of the perimeter of the park and home again. Nice to start extending my mileage at last.
Janathon day 8. 6.59 miles

Can I borrow your auto-legs? 😉 The dark and grey make its tough to get out for an early morning run. I have been procrastinating for an hour already… But I will go… soon…

I understand that feeling. Dark mornings are horrid.
