My sleep-in until noon cancelled all my plans to go to parkrun or get out for an early long run this morning. Eventually I made it out the door after 3pm hoping to loop Hyde Park and complete my planned 8 miles before it got too dark.
I was feeling a bit sluggish for the first few miles, wondering if I should cut it short. Fortunately I began to feel good after 3 miles or so (as usual) helped by a bit of a down hill, a wave and smile from a passing runner and the sight of Winter Wonderland being dismantled and removed from Hyde Park. I can now look forward to nice quiet laps of the Serpentine on cold rainy days with only the Geese for company.
I added a lap of my mile circuit that I use for speed work and felt wobbly legged thinking about laps at any sort of fast pace! It was then getting dusk so I headed out of the park before I was shut in for the night.

The thought of speedwork makes me go a little wobbly too, especially since 9mim/miles killed me this morning!
